The Entrepreneurship Project

The Entrepreneurship Project is a program that inspires students to create, market, and defend their business ideas. Students learn what it means to be an entrepreneur and an investor, and how to write up their own business plan.

Through interactive engagement and teamwork, The Entrepreneurship Project introduces participants to basic financial literacy concepts such as revenues, expenses, budgeting, savings, investment, interest, risk, and return.

During the course, students generate business ideas, construct mock business plans, and create a marketing strategy to pitch to “investors.” Members of the local business community are invited to participate as "investors."

The main outcome of The Entrepreneurship Project is increased financial literacy among the participants. Additionally, students practice invaluable skills, such as concise writing, presenting, and defending ideas.
